Michael V. Scanio – Managing Partner 

Mr. Michael Scanio has been engaged in a wide variety of commercial real estate and investment banking endeavors since 1999.  A founding member of Cambridge Capital Advisors, Mr. Scanio’s principal focus is the acquisition, disposition, underwriting and deal sourcing of investment properties with a focus on single-tenant net leased properties and shopping centers nationwide.
 
Mr. Scanio has a superior track record in client/investor relations.  In addition to being a well heeled industry professional, his "hands on" experience has effectuated the completion of complex real estate transactions throughout the United States resulting in over $350,000,000 of transactional volume.  His clients include institutions, both public and private, political figures, accredited investors, professional athletes and foreign investors.  

Prior to co-founding Cambridge Capital Advisors in 2010, Mr. Scanio was Senior Vice President of Denenberg Realty Advisors from 2006 - 2009.  Mr. Scanio developed and led an investment sales team that successfully brokered shopping centers, office buildings and single-tenant net leased properties.
 
Previously, Mr. Scanio was the Vice President of Trident Realty Advisors, Inc.  In that capacity he was responsible for consulting with public and private clients on acquisitions and dispositions of single tenant net-leased properties, shopping centers and office buildings.
 
Before his involvement with Trident, he served as a Fund Advisor for California Capital Access Fund.  His responsibilities included providing high net worth individuals and private investment groups diverse opportunities to invest in a variety of pre-IPO securities.  He subsequently became a Senior Advisor for its parent company, Direct Capital Securities, Inc., where he was responsible for raising capital for start-ups and established companies.
 
Mr. Scanio received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Bentley University.
 
He is a member of numerous commercial real estate organizations throughout the country, including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
 

 

Bryan M. Gitlin - Managing Partner 

Mr. Bryan Gitlin has been actively involved in the acquisition, re-development, management, leasing and disposition of commercial real estate since 1998.  A founding member of Cambridge Capital Advisors and seasoned investment broker, Mr. Gitlin’s concentration is the acquisition, disposition, underwriting and deal sourcing of investment properties with a primary focus on single-tenant net leased properties and shopping centers nationwide.

Prior to co-founding Cambridge Capital Advisors, Mr. Gitlin was a Vice President of Denenberg Realty Advisors.  In that capacity, Mr. Gitlin advised his clients, which include public and private institutions, developers, high net worth investors and professional athletes on the acquisition and disposition of investment properties throughout the United States.

Previously, Mr. Gitlin was a principal and co-founder of Terra Aurea Development, LLC.  There he focused primarily on the acquisition, re-development, conversion, leasing, management, and disposition of commercial and mixed use properties.  Concurrently, he was a principal and co-founder of Terra Aurea Services, LLC, a regionally recognized contracting company that provided commercial and residential contracting services to clients throughout New England.   

Mr. Gitlin received his Juris Doctor from the Western New England College School of Law.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Vermont.

Richard E. (Rick) Barnes - Associate Director  

Mr. Richard E. (Rick) Barnes began his real estate career by building and selling his first neighborhood convenience shopping center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 1978. Since that time, Rick has been successful in the development, leasing and sales of income producing real estate assets in major markets across the country. Today, as a specialist in commercial investment properties, Rick utilizes his owner’s perspective to proactively identify and match the needs of investment property buyers and sellers, and engineer solutions that insure smooth transactions.  

In his 33 year career, Mr. Barnes has been a managing partner for the development of a 1.4 million square foot - $300 million national office and retail portfolio of properties and has managed the redevelopment of a five-property - $120 million retail portfolio in New England for an institutional investor. He has developed projects for such national retailers as Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Kohl’s, Toys “R” Us, Best Buy, Staples, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Petco, Pier 1 Imports, Super Stop & Shop, CVS and Walgreen’s. 

Prior to joining Cambridge Capital Advisors, Mr. Barnes was the Vice President of Capital Markets for Whelan Associates, LLC, a premier developer of first class office and industrial properties throughout New England. Before joining Whelan, Mr. Barnes was a top producer for Sea Watch Realty, Inc., a major commercial real estate brokerage firm in southeastern Massachusetts. In his career, Mr. Barnes has also been an owner and partner in various development projects in association with Eastern Development, LLC, Atlantic Retail Properties, and The Woodmont Company of Fort Worth. 

Mr. Barnes has an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Texas and has completed graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning.

Louie M. Caci – Advisor

Mr. Caci brings 14 years of high level national sales experience to his real estate advisory and consulting pursuits. Mr. Caci’s principal focus at CCA will be assisting his clients on the purchase and sale of investment properties both locally and nationwide with a primary focus on single tenant net leased properties.

Prior to joining Cambridge Capital Advisors, Mr. Caci was a top sales executive for A Trac, a Boston, Massachusetts based added value reseller. There he specialized in the sale of all aspects of IT infrastructure products such as hardware, software and professional services. As a top sales producer, Mr. Caci’s overall responsibilities included the building of long term strategic relationships as well as the management of a national portfolio working with both public and private companies.

Mr. Caci received his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University.

Lara W. Casano - Advisor

Ms. Lara Casano comes from a diverse financial services background and has been engaged in a variety of financial transactions since 1999. Ms. Casano has a superior track record in client/investor relations in addition to managing high level international relationships with large financial institutions, pensions, endowments, and prominent high net-worth individuals. At Cambridge Capital Advisors, Ms. Casano's principal focus will be advising her clients on the purchase and sale of investment properties with a principal focus on single tenant net leased properties and shopping centers on a national level.

Prior to joining Cambridge Capital Advisors, Ms. Casano was Chief Operating Officer at Logos Capital Management, Inc., a New York City based, global macro hedge fund. In that capacity, Ms. Casano was primarily responsible for business operations, investor/client relations, and was instrumental in growing the fund’s assets under management from $50M to $450M during her tenure there. Ms. Casano’s strong understanding of the capital and real estate markets in addition to her ability to handle complex financial transactions enhances the service she offers as a tremendous asset to her clients.

Ms. Casano received her MBA as well as her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Iona College where she is currently an adjuct professor at the Hagan School of Business.

Derek T. Vallerand - Advisor

Prior to joining Cambridge Capital Advisors, Mr. Vallerand spent 5 years working for Ernst & Young in their IT Risk and Assurance practice. There he was part of a team that specialized in the planning, design and execution of Integrated audits for a number of major financial service organizations. He also specialized in providing advisory and consulting services to his clients with regards to their IT processes. Mr. Vallerand’s overall responsibilities included building and maintaining strategic client relationships as well as managing the IT audit team to meet client demands and deliverables.

Mr. Vallerand’s principal focus at CCA will be assisting his clients on the purchase and sale of investment properties both locally and nationwide with a primary focus on single tenant net leased properties.

Mr. Vallerand received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems from Bryant University.

Emily Casano - Advisor

Ms. Emily Casano has been actively engaged in the international investment and global investment banking industries since 2006. Prior to joining Cambridge Capital Advisors in 2011, Ms. Casano was an Associate Director at One Investment Group, a Sydney Australia based hedge fund manager. In that capacity Ms. Casano was responsible for the firm’s business strategy program, sales planning and development, and new investor relationship development.

Ms. Casano’s prior experiences include working for the Macquarie Funds Group in Sydney, Australia in their Structured and Specialized Investment Division as well as Credit Suisse, LLC as a member of the company’s International Equity Program Trading Team.

In her current practice with Cambridge Capital Advisors, Ms. Casano leverages keen analytical skills and a proven track record in investor relations while representing clients on the purchase and sale of investment properties nationwide.

Ms. Casano received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in European Business from James Madison University. She also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Long Island University.
